Blast Resources<\/strong> has appointed Andy Yackulic<\/strong> as an independent director to its board of directors, effective immediately. The move is straightforward: the CSE-listed company is bringing on board one of the most seasoned geologists in the Athabasca Basin, the Saskatchewan region that hosts some of the richest uranium mineralisation on the planet.<\/p>\n

Yackulic brings more than twenty years of experience in uranium exploration and resource development across that same area. He has managed exploration programmes with annual budgets exceeding $20 million, led multidisciplinary technical teams, and made direct contributions to deposit discoveries, resource estimates and corporate exploration strategy. Among his most tangible achievements, he led the team that discovered the high-grade Fox Lake deposit, taking it from initial find to a certified mineral resource estimate in roughly two years. Before joining Denison Mines<\/strong>, he spent approximately twelve years at Cameco Corporation<\/strong>, progressively advancing into roles of greater technical and managerial responsibility. At Denison, he went on to direct exploration strategy across a portfolio exceeding 380,000 hectares within the Athabasca Basin \u2014 a career built steadily, project by project.<\/p>\n

Blast Resources’ flagship asset is the Wales Lake<\/strong> project, located in northern Saskatchewan less than 30 kilometres from Paladin’s Triple R and NexGen’s Arrow deposits. The latter is considered the largest low-cost uranium deposit in the world, with potential production capacity of up to 30 million pounds of high-grade uranium per year at full output. Its geographical proximity to these assets is no coincidence: the Athabasca Basin concentrates a density of mineralisation that few other regions in the world can match, and Wales Lake sits within this corridor with genuine exploration ambitions.<\/p>\n

Market dynamics are working in the company’s favour. Global uranium supply is tightening while demand continues to grow: more than twenty countries have committed to tripling nuclear capacity by 2050. Yackulic himself noted that “the fundamentals for uranium have rarely been stronger.” Casey Forward, President and CEO of Blast Resources, highlighted that the incoming director’s track record in the Athabasca Basin “speaks for itself,” pointing to his ability to combine scientific rigour with disciplined execution of exploration programmes. Yackulic is a registered geoscientist with APEGS, holds a degree in geology from the University of Saskatchewan, and is completing an MBA at the Edwards School of Business.<\/p>\n

With this appointment, Blast Resources<\/strong> is building a more robust technical governance structure around Wales Lake, just as the uranium cycle tightens once again.
