Hargreaves Services<\/strong> has secured a new contract from Sizewell C Limited<\/strong> for the delivery of three wastewater treatment plants to support the construction of the Sizewell C nuclear power station in Suffolk. The contract was awarded on 9 October 2026, with works scheduled to begin in early 2027 and a projected duration of two years. The financial value of the contract has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n

The scope of the contract covers the full engineering lifecycle: design, procurement, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of all three facilities. The plants will serve the construction phase of the power station \u2014 not the generating plant itself \u2014 but form an integral part of the site infrastructure. Hargreaves Services<\/strong> will deliver the work through its specialist engineering division, which encompasses environmental services and mechanical and electrical engineering for major energy and industrial projects.<\/p>\n

From a financial standpoint, the contract will contribute to group revenues in the fiscal years ending 31 May 2027 and 31 May 2028. Prior to the announcement, analyst consensus estimates pointed to revenues of \u00a3292.1 million<\/strong> for 2027 and \u00a3305.2 million<\/strong> for 2028, with underlying pre-tax profit of \u00a317.9 million and \u00a318.6 million respectively. Hargreaves’ board stated that the award strengthens medium-term order book visibility and supports the group’s existing financial guidance.<\/p>\n

Sizewell C’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jon Loveday<\/strong>, highlighted that total UK spend on the project has now reached approximately \u00a35 billion<\/strong>, with more than a thousand British suppliers already engaged. This figure underscores how Sizewell C is feeding the domestic supply chain, generating employment and investment across a wide geographic footprint. Hargreaves itself is a North East England-based company, and this latest award firmly places it within an industrial network that extends well beyond Suffolk.<\/p>\n

Hargreaves CEO Simon Hicks<\/strong> noted that the award reflects “the growing strength of our engineering and project management capabilities.” This is not the company’s first contract linked to Sizewell C \u2014 the group already had other work packages underway on the project. The new commission further consolidates that positioning.<\/p>\n

Sizewell C is one of the most significant energy infrastructure projects currently under development in the United Kingdom. As the site progresses towards its operational phase, the number of contracts awarded across the British supply chain is set to grow.
