Alleima Wins Nuclear Tube Order for Sizewell C’s Two EPR1600 Reactors

Alleima has received an order to supply nuclear tubes and piping for the Sizewell C project in the United Kingdom. The Swedish specialty steel group announced the contract on 26 October 2026, alongside the publication of its third-quarter results.

The order covers the two EPR1600 reactors planned at Sizewell C in Suffolk, on England’s east coast. The contract was booked in the fourth quarter of 2026 and falls under the Tube division. Deliveries will begin in 2027 and continue for about two years.

It is not the only order to arrive in recent weeks. After the close of the quarter, Alleima received several orders in the nuclear segment, spread across multiple product categories. The group, headquartered in Sandviken, produces seamless tubes, precision strip and ultra-fine wire in advanced alloys, and supplies the energy, chemical and aerospace sectors.

The quarterly report says nuclear, together with umbilical tubes and titanium for aerospace, remains among the strong areas of the Tube division. The company links the newly received orders to confidence in the long-term growth of the market. According to management, the new contracts confirm that the timing of its investment in nuclear is right.

That investment has a name. In June, Alleima opened Tube Mill 2026 in Sandviken, a facility designed to meet growing global demand for nuclear power. The stated aim is to expand production capacity and serve customers with shorter lead times and closer collaboration with builders.

Demand is coming from several directions. Sizewell C plans two EPR units of 1,600 megawatts each, and every major construction site requires components in specific alloys, made by only a handful of qualified suppliers worldwide. Those with the capacity and certifications are in an advantageous position when projects move into the procurement phase.

With deliveries stretching to around 2029, the order gives Tube Mill 2026 a concrete workload for the coming years. If other European new-build reactor projects move from planning to ordering, the Sandviken plant will already have a weighty reference to show.
