American Fusion Inc. (OTCQB: AMFN), headquartered in Southlake, Texas, has reached 100 pending U.S. patent applications. The milestone came with the filing of 17 new applications covering key aspects of its Texatron Fusion Engine platform — the aneutronic fusion architecture at the core of the company’s entire commercialization strategy.
The 17 new filings span a wide range of components and technical configurations. Protected elements include aluminum confinement structures, clamshell and unitary housings, hollow toroidal chambers with internal rifled geometries, fuel injection systems, electromagnetic coil configurations, and related system architectures. These are not minor variations: each filing is designed to protect a specific structural configuration or distinct operational approach, with the goal of covering multiple product generations.
The logic behind this strategy is straightforward. American Fusion is not simply registering already-developed technologies — it is building a protective barrier around every possible future iteration of the Texatron, from reactor structure and plasma control to energy management and fuel delivery systems. In early August, the company had already grown its portfolio to 82 filed applications. In under three weeks, it added another 18 filings, jumping from 82 to 100. The pace of expansion has clearly accelerated.
The Texatron platform is designed for aneutronic fusion — an approach that, compared to conventional neutronic fusion, produces fewer neutron emissions and promises simpler plant management. The design is modular: the development roadmap includes a 5-megawatt system intended for the demonstration phase, alongside 10, 20, 30, 50, and 100-megawatt models for commercial applications at increasing scale. Units of 100 megawatts could be combined to reach utility-level capacity. Target applications include industry, defense, commerce, and energy grids in areas with limited infrastructure.
On the regulatory front, discussions with the Texas Department of State Health Services are ongoing following the submission of a certification request in February 2026. Delivery and testing activities for the 5 MW system have yet to begin, but they represent the next concrete proving ground for the technology. A portfolio of 100 patents does not prove the reactor works — but it builds the legal and industrial perimeter within which that demonstration can take place. If testing delivers the expected results, American Fusion will already have a structured IP framework in place to engage potential partners, licensees, or competitors.
