Does nuclear energy contribute to climate change?

Very little compared to fossil fuel sources.

During operation, a nuclear power plant does not burn fossil fuels and does not emit CO2 from a stack. Lifecycle emissions arise from construction, extraction, enrichment, transport, and decommissioning, but remain low according to IPCC and UNECE. For this reason, the IEA classifies nuclear as a low-emission source and considers it a possible tool in power sector decarbonisation.
