First Trust Advisors has announced a quarterly income distribution for the First Trust Bloomberg Nuclear Power ETF, listed on NYSE Arca under the ticker RCTR, amounting to $0.0584 per share. The distribution follows the regular quarterly schedule established at the fund’s launch and reaffirms the operational continuity of a financial vehicle dedicated entirely to the nuclear energy sector.
RCTR was launched on January 19, 2026, by FT Portfolios Canada Co., the Canadian arm of First Trust, with an initial listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The U.S.-listed fund, traded on NYSE Arca, tracks the Bloomberg Nuclear Power Index, which selects companies based on their expected revenue exposure to nuclear-related activities. The methodology also weighs operational and financial factors: capacity to scale production, capital allocation trends, customer relationships, and access to financial markets. As of August 28, 2026, the share price stood at $33.87, with assets under management of $29.3 million and a year-to-date return of 4.7%.
The benchmark index divides the investable universe into three core segments of the so-called nuclear ecosystem: power generation, the uranium segment — encompassing mining and enrichment — and engineering, procurement, and construction of nuclear facilities. This structure allows the fund to capture the entire supply chain, from raw materials through to reactor construction. The portfolio concentrates 47% of assets in its top ten holdings, reflecting a meaningful degree of selectivity in stock picking.
The market backdrop for RCTR is favorable. Global electricity demand is growing at a pace that conventional sources are struggling to keep up with, and nuclear power is positioning itself to fill a significant share of this structural gap. Both institutional and retail investors are showing increasing interest in sector-specific financial instruments, and thematic ETFs like RCTR directly address that demand. The dividend yield stands at approximately 0.8% on an annualized basis, with distributions paid quarterly.
First Trust itself, in its January launch announcement, emphasized that current power generation capacity — from any source — will fall short of meeting future energy needs. That assessment is now being validated by nuclear expansion plans from governments around the world, spanning the United States, Canada, and numerous countries across Europe and Asia. RCTR’s quarterly distribution is more than just an accounting event: it signals that the fund is working, generating income, and establishing itself as a benchmark vehicle for investors seeking financial exposure to the global nuclear renaissance.
