General Fusion at Canaccord Growth Conference: fusion energy makes its Wall Street debut

General Fusion (NASDAQ: GFUZ) is bringing magnetized target fusion before the international financial community. The Canadian company has announced its participation in the Canaccord Genuity 46th Annual Growth Conference, scheduled in Boston, with a fireside chat set for August 11, 2026 at 12:30 ET.

The company will be represented by Megan Wilson, Chief Strategy Officer, who will walk investors through the strategic vision and progress of the commercialization program. A replay of the presentation will be available on the company’s Investor Relations page. The choice of such a high-profile event — focused on high-growth companies listed on North American markets — speaks volumes about the direction General Fusion has taken since completing its merger with Spring Valley Acquisition Corp. III and listing on Nasdaq under the ticker GFUZ.

Founded in Vancouver in 2002, General Fusion is the world’s first publicly traded fusion energy company. Its approach, known as Magnetized Target Fusion (MTF), compresses magnetized plasma using a mechanically driven liquid lithium liner — a deliberately different path from large superconducting tokamaks like ITER. Less infrastructure, shorter development cycles, potentially lower costs. This philosophy is captured in Wilson’s own words: the company operates with the goal of “buying down risk by demonstrating real results.”

The centerpiece of the technical program is the LM26 machine — Lawson Machine 26 — unveiled in early 2025 as the first MTF demonstrator built at a commercially relevant scale. LM26 compresses plasma with a lithium liner at 50% of commercial diameter. Technical milestones are sequential: plasma heating first to 1 keV (roughly 10 million degrees Celsius), then to 10 keV (100 million degrees), and ultimately achieving the Lawson criterion — the combination of parameters that allows plasma to produce net fusion energy. Built in under two years, LM26 is already operational.

Participation in the Canaccord Growth Conference is not a one-off. In recent months, General Fusion has significantly ramped up its presence at investor-facing events: FusionX:Americas in Boston in June, the ROTH London Conference, and Web Summit Vancouver with CEO Greg Twinney. This is a structured visibility strategy, reflecting the position of a newly listed company working to build credibility in public markets while advancing a technology program that is still in the demonstration phase. Capital raising and technical development are moving forward in parallel.

If LM26 hits its targets in the coming quarters, General Fusion will have hard data to bring to future roadshows. For a listed company, a working demonstrator carries value that goes beyond the technical: it shapes the narrative. And in markets, narrative matters as much as data — at least until the data speaks for itself.
