LIS Technologies Hires Former NextEra Executive Scott Hyman to Lead Nuclear Fuels Marketing

LIS Technologies Inc. (LIST) has appointed Scott Hyman as Director of Nuclear Fuels Marketing. The announcement was made on October 20, 2026, from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Hyman brings nearly 40 years of nuclear industry experience to the company.

LIST describes itself as the only US-origin laser uranium enrichment company with proprietary, patented technology. Hyman will be tasked with identifying enrichment contracts and commercial opportunities and building long-term relationships with utilities and decision-makers across the nuclear fuel supply chain.

His most recent role was at NextEra Energy, where since January 2023 he served as Principal, Nuclear Fuel Supply. He managed uranium, conversion and enrichment procurement and fuel strategy for a fleet of seven operating reactors. From 2018 to 2022 he was vice president of sales and marketing at Vimy Resources, an Australian uranium developer, where he built and executed the global commercial plan. Earlier, he worked at a subsidiary of a major industry group, spending seven years as vice president of marketing for the Americas, leading sales in the United States, Mexico and South America.

Chairman and co-founder Christo Liebenberg said few people know the enrichment market from as many angles as Hyman. According to Liebenberg, the hire strengthens the company’s commercial foundation as development of its CRISLA (Condensation Repression Isotope-Selective Laser Activation) technology continues. Hyman said he intends to draw on his experience to build relationships in the US fuel market.

The move comes as LIST makes technical progress. In March 2025, an independent assessment rated the CRISLA-3G technology at TRL-4 under US Department of Energy guidance, meaning critical components have been validated in the laboratory. The company has since announced the arrival of its first shipment of uranium hexafluoride (UF6) for its demonstration facility in Oak Ridge. Its flagship project is Project F.U.E.L, the first commercial laser enrichment plant in the United States, planned for LIST Island.

According to the company, LIST’s laser process consumes less energy and can offer competitive capital and operating costs. The selectivity of the method would allow low-enriched uranium (LEU) to be produced in a single stage and high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU), required by many advanced modular reactors, in two stages. LIST also works with NANO Nuclear on deconversion and fuel fabrication, activities downstream of enrichment.

With a commercial lead who knows buyers from the inside, LIST can begin discussing contracts with utilities while the demonstration facility is still in testing. For a market looking for enrichment suppliers outside traditional channels, the quality of the first agreements will show how much weight the laser approach can carry in the US fuel supply chain.
