Azincourt Energy confirms uranium mineralization at Snegamook with first two holes totaling 540 meters

Azincourt Energy has completed the first two diamond drill holes of its 2026 campaign at the Snegamook uranium deposit in Labrador, Canada, confirming zones of elevated radioactivity and mineralization consistent with historical data. The program aims to build a robust geological dataset in support of a future NI 43-101 resource estimate.

Azincourt Energy has released initial results from its 2026 diamond drilling campaign at the Snegamook uranium deposit, part of the Harrier Project located in the Central Mineral Belt of Labrador, Canada. The first two drill holes, totaling 540 meters, intersected multiple zones of elevated radioactivity and confirmed uranium mineralization consistent with the site’s historical records.

The first hole, designated SN0045, was drilled 1.5 meters from historical hole SN-08-06 at a -45° dip, reaching a depth of 269 meters. It intersected elevated radioactivity zones over a 30-meter interval — between 94.1 and 124.9 meters — within brecciated and re-healed gneissic monzodiorite cut by thin amphibolite dykes. Radiometric equivalent results returned 0.07% eU₃O₈ over 0.6 meters, with a peak of 0.14% eU₃O₈ over 0.2 meters. The second hole, SN0046, was drilled from the same pad at a -65° dip to test the mineralized horizon at depth: at 271 meters, it intersected a 25-meter zone of elevated radioactivity between 187 and 211.6 meters, returning 0.05% eU₃O₈ over 0.5 meters.

The geological context is significant. The 17 historical holes drilled between 2007 and 2008 had already identified a 20–50-meter-wide section of altered and mineralized monzodiorite, interpreted as analogous to the nearby Two Time deposit. A 10-centimeter check sample collected in 2025 from hole SN-08-06 had returned a grade of 2.71% U₃O₈ — the highest ever recorded in the history of the Snegamook deposit — compared to a historical sample grade of 0.97% U₃O₈ over 0.5 meters. These values guided the positioning of the new holes in the southern portion of the deposit.

Trevor Perkins, Vice President of Exploration, stated that the program “has confirmed the mineralizing system and geological setting of the Snegamook deposit,” with results comparable to those of the neighboring Two Time and Anna Lake deposits. CEO Mark Tommasi emphasized that the goal is to build a reliable geological dataset — through drilling and review of historical core — to guide the next stages of exploration. Samples from all holes have been dispatched for laboratory analysis, with final results expected in early 2027.

The 2026 program envisions approximately 2,000 meters of drilling across six or seven holes in total, with the aim of validating historical data and laying the groundwork for a potential mineral resource estimate under NI 43-101 standards. Snegamook currently has no certified resource estimate: a preliminary assessment was prepared in 2008 by Silver Spruce Resources but was never finalized or filed. Should laboratory results confirm what the radiometric readings suggest, Azincourt will be well-positioned to formally initiate the certification process. In a uranium market where long-term prices have reached record levels, advancing a deposit with well-defined geological characteristics in the Central Mineral Belt of Labrador is an opportunity worth consolidating quickly.
