Leading Edge Materials Corp. announced on September 18, 2026, from Vancouver, the closing of the second tranche of its broker-free private placement, targeting gross proceeds of up to CAD 6 million through the issuance of 24 million units at CAD 0.25 each. The transaction strengthens the financial structure of the company — listed on the TSXV, Nasdaq First North and OTCQB — at a time when its exploration assets are delivering tangible results.
On the exploration front, the 2025 field campaign at the Bihor Sud deposit in Romania has returned data outlining a well-defined, multi-faceted mineralised system. Mapping and sampling activities identified uranium oxide associated with jasperoid silicification, polymetallic sulphides — copper, cobalt, nickel, lead and zinc — hosted in silico-carbonate rocks with uranium occurrences, and crystalline carbonates bearing disseminated sulphide mineralisation. Supergene enrichment phases, including erythrite and annabergite, further expand the mineralogical profile of the licence area. Massive sulphide mineralisation has been identified at the Valea Leucii, Dibarz and Avram Iancu sites, with the working hypothesis that these three fronts form part of a single, broader regional mineral system. Historical sampling data confirm the widespread presence of uranium, base metals and precious metals across the area.
At the corporate level, the company’s grip on the Bihor Sud deposit has tightened. In May 2026, Leading Edge Materials announced an agreement to increase its stake in the Bihor Sud Exploration Licence joint venture to 90%, through an amendment to the original agreement signed with REMAT Group Management SRL in 2018. This move significantly increases the company’s direct exposure to any future development of the Romanian asset.
Other assets in the portfolio also made meaningful progress during the quarter. In June 2026, tests conducted on ore extracted from the Woxna graphite mine in Sweden demonstrated that an industrially practical, two-stage alkaline process — requiring no high-energy pre-heating — achieves a purity of 99.96% LOI, opening the door to the production of flake graphite for advanced industrial applications and batteries. At the end of June, Swedish subsidiary GREENNA Mineral AB was granted a twenty-year exploitation concession for the Norra Kärr heavy rare earth project in Sweden. In July, the company updated its hydrometallurgical processing strategy for the eudialite concentrate from the same site, with the goal of advancing the process to pilot scale.
The private placement has the backing of lead reference shareholder Eric Krafft, who has committed to subscribing for any units not placed in the market — a guarantee that materially reduces execution risk. With the closing of the second tranche, Leading Edge Materials has the resources to push forward on multiple fronts simultaneously: uranium-polymetallic exploration in Romania, graphite development in Sweden, and the path toward heavy rare earth production at Norra Kärr. The portfolio’s geographic and mineralogical diversification, combined with a solid controlling shareholder structure, positions the company to translate exploration results into concrete operational decisions in the quarters ahead.
