Premier American Uranium has released interim results from its 2026 exploration program at the Kaycee project, located in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin. Since May, the company has completed 50 conventional drill holes totaling approximately 41,960 feet — nearly 42% of the 100,000-foot program planned for the full year. Results show uranium mineralization across multiple target areas, with grade and thickness profiles that exceed the thresholds typically required for inclusion in a mineral resource estimate.
In the Rustler area, thirteen of the 22 completed holes encountered uranium mineralization at grades equal to or above 0.02% eU₃O₈. In the Outpost area, seven of the 27 holes drilled returned comparable results. Downhole geophysics and radiometric measurements are being integrated in real time to refine the geological model and guide subsequent drilling. The geometry of the subsurface channels is becoming increasingly well-defined, thanks to the combined dataset from 2025 and 2026.
These results come against the backdrop of an already substantial project. Kaycee covers more than 46 square miles of mineral rights along a 36-mile mineralized trend, with over 110 miles of roll fronts identified. It is the only project in the Powder River Basin where all three historically productive sand formations — the Wasatch, Fort Union, and Lance — are mineralized and potentially accessible via in situ recovery (ISR) mining. Since 2023, more than 400,000 feet of drilling have been completed across the broader site exploration effort.
PUR CEO Colin Healey stated that the 2026 program is delivering strong results, with roughly half of the work already completed. He added that, with approximately 430 miles of roll fronts interpreted, the company believes it is still in the early stages of evaluating the full potential of the system. Healey’s remarks reflect a methodical approach: the current focus is on mapping the extent of mineralization across target areas before advancing to later stages of development.
The mineralogical continuity between Stampede and Rustler — already apparent in the 2025 data — reinforces the hypothesis of a north-south mineralization corridor hosted within the Wasatch formation. This type of geological configuration is consistent with classic roll front models in sedimentary basins and makes the project particularly well-suited to ISR mining, a technique that does not require ore excavation but instead dissolves the mineral in place using leaching solutions. This operational advantage reduces development costs and streamlines the permitting process.
With the second half of the 2026 drilling program still ahead and new targets yet to be tested, Kaycee stands out as one of the most active uranium exploration projects in the United States. If remaining results maintain the mineralization density observed so far, the resource estimate the company intends to produce could position Kaycee among the most significant ISR projects in the Powder River Basin — a district that has historically been one of the primary sources of domestic uranium supply in the United States.
