American Fusion Reaches 151 US Patents for the Texatron Fusion Engine

American Fusion Inc. (OTCQB: AMFN) has filed 21 additional US patent applications, bringing the total number of pending filings tied to the Texatron Fusion Engine to 151. The update comes just weeks after the company announced it had crossed the 130-application threshold in September 2026, reflecting an accelerated filing pace that has been sustained for several months.

The patent portfolio spans a broad range of components and subsystems: reactor architecture, plasma confinement, electromagnetic systems, fuel delivery, reactor control, and energy management. American Fusion‘s intellectual property strategy is designed to protect each technological layer of the Texatron platform independently, building a web of protections that the company believes could eventually exceed 300 total filings. Chief Legal Officer Michael G. Smith described the process as “systematic,” structured to safeguard the innovations underpinning the platform as it advances toward commercial deployment.

The Texatron Fusion Engine is a compact aneutronic fusion platform developed through wholly owned subsidiary Kepler Fusion Technologies. Aneutronic fusion — which relies on proton-boron reactions rather than conventional deuterium-tritium fuels — produces very few free neutrons, reducing structural material activation issues and simplifying shielding requirements. While the approach remains far from industrial maturity, it offers theoretically significant advantages over more established fusion pathways.

On the hardware front, American Fusion has completed final modifications to its 5 MW prototype at a third-party manufacturing facility in the Midland/Odessa area of Texas. The prototype has since been returned to the company’s main facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, where preparations are underway for upcoming test sessions. Current activities include test facility planning, procurement of specialized validation equipment, and the development of commercial deployment strategies for future Texatron systems.

On the financial and regulatory side, the company has initiated a process toward a potential uplisting from the OTCQB market to a national exchange. The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) is currently the preferred venue, though no definitive financing agreement has yet been signed. The stated goal of surpassing 260 patent applications by year-end provides a concrete benchmark for the expected pace of development. Should the 5 MW prototype tests yield positive results in the coming months, American Fusion would have both a broad intellectual property base and a stronger public profile — two factors that could support both the listing process and future funding rounds.
