Technical solutions exist: controlled storage, conditioning, possible recycling, and deep geological disposal. The OECD-NEA considers geological disposal a technically feasible solution; Finland is the most advanced example of implementation. A difficult challenge of governance, public trust, costs, and timescales remains. 'Unsolvable' is therefore a more political word than a technical one.
